Anime of 2013: Best OP/ED (2/2)
My favourite OP/EDs for 2013! In no particular order.
PSYCHO-PASS ED 2 - All Alone With You
ryo, supercell, and EGOIST never produces a bad song. Having heard chelly live at AFA 2013 only made me want a full supercell concert even more. Just imagine ryo, chelly, and nagi on the same stage!
Aku no Hana OP - Aku no Hana
The original song feels like a medley of different pieces. As individual OPs, it works pretty well. Having the seiyuu sing it, in my opinion, actually makes the song better. Nakamura Sawa's part was particularly powerful.
Aku no Hana ED - ~花~ A Last Flower
The first time I heard it, my hair stood and it sent shivers down my spine. I was mesmerized, staring at the pouch and waiting for something to happen. It was used well in the last episode as well.
Shingeki no Kyojin OP 1 - Guren no Yumiya
Probably the most popular song this year. The music composition is quite interesting and it has the right amount of GAR. lol
Shingeki no Kyojin OP 2 - Jiyuu no Tsubasa
Starts with what sounds like an anthem before diving into a rock piece. Linked Horizon is a pretty interesting band and the animation in this OP is particularly gruesome and adrenaline-fuelled.
Monogatari Series Second Season ED 1-4 - Ai wo Utae, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari, Sono Koe wo Oboeteru, snowdrop
Yeah there is no way I would not have all of these here. Haruna Luna~! Also, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari is a little bit of a cheat since it only appeared in that summary episode but hey.
Uchouten Kazoku OP - Uchouten Jinsei
This is such a fun song to start a fun, though sometimes serious, series. The director for the OP took cues from The Tatami Galaxy's OP as well, perhaps a reference to the fact that they are by the same author.
Kyokai no Kanata OP - Kyoukai no Kanata
Mimorin~! A beautiful song, and KyoAni spared no expense to make this look as beautiful as possible. This is nearly Shinkai Makoto levels for the background.
Kill la Kill OP - Sirius
Eir Aoi produced 2 really awesome songs for this show: Sirius and Sanbika. She's not the seiyuu for Ryuuko, but her voice and song fits the character so well.
I come into every year's list thinking that I don't have that many favourites that year but it always ends up rather long. lol.
