Anime of 2012: Seiyuu (part 3)

Finally, a list of brand new (or nearly brand new) seiyuu that started work this year with a bang!

Ootsubo Yuka (Toshinou Kyouko from Yuru Yuri)

Her first named role was Kyouko from Yuru Yuri in 2011 and that was all she had till 2012. This year, her most prominent role is still Kyouko, though she is also Kurei Tamao in Nyaruko. I like her voice and I think she has the potential to get more roles and hopefully not get typecasted.

Uchida Maaya (Sanka Rea from Sankarea, Takanashi Rikka from Chuunibyou, Mari from Yuru Yuri)

She had a small role in Yuru Yuri but then went on to star in Sankarea and Chuunibyou. With the power of KyoAni behind her, there is no doubt you will see her in more roles next year. Fun fact: She plays Hiroyo Hakase in the live-action tokusatsu comedy series Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. She also voices a character in the PS3 game Gal Gun.

Uesaka Sumire (Takanashi Sora from PapaKiki, Dekomori Sanae from Chuunibyou)

Sumipe just started this year with a few shows, but of course she will be remembered this year as Dekomori. KyoAni likes to take risks with new talent, quietly picking them out of nowhere to star in their shows. I think the main reason why these seiyuu do as well as they do is because of the recording process that KyoAni does. They probably take more time and give more directions to their seiyuu so that the nuances of the character is portrayed well. Fun fact: It seems like this girl is a true chuunibyou in real life and also has a degree in Russian History. A Russian history and military otaku.

Tanezaki Atsumi (Natsume Asako from Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun)

With only 1 show under her belt and no other shows announced so far, she is in danger of being a one-trick pony. But I wouldn't worry too much, because the type of voice she does can be used in a lot of the moe-type shows, probably a dojikko character.

Kido Ibuki (Himenokouji Akiko from Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne)

This is one seriously talented 14 year old JC. In her very first role and she plays a main character in a ecchi anime. She seems well-spoken on OniAi radio so I think she has a bright future ahead of her as a seiyuu personality/idol.
