Summary: Character that actually have personalities, a little mystery, and a dash of weirdness. This show is certainly interesting and definitely know how to weave an enjoyable tale.
The story revolves around Maya, the daughter of the former head master of a private Japanese academy dedicated to the study of the occult.
Maya isn't a one dimensional tsundere. In this first episode alone, we see a few sides of her personality, finally settling on one that hates the occult, but we still don't fully understand her story. But that's OK! The writers have made a character that is interesting to watch and follow, even though the plot can get cheesy at times.
While not as visually impressive as Madhouse's HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD, A-1 Pictures does quite a good job in animating this show too.
One thing I want to point out is that this show is part of the Anime no Chikara timeslot on TV Tokyo. Anime no Chikara tries to emulate the success of the noitaminA time slot on Fuji Television. I'm personally quite a big fan of noitaminA shows (Honey and Clover, Paradise Kiss, Kuchu Buranko, The Tatami Galaxy, and many more!) and was quite excited to hear some other company trying something similar. Sadly, while Sora no Woto and Senko no Night Raid were both quite good, they do not come close to the very non-mainstream quality of noitaminA. They fall into too many cliches.
